How to Play

Lazy Hamzy fell asleep in class, and a giant tsunami just crashed through the window! Hamzy runs by himself. Your job is to help him jump and slide past everything in his way and stay ahead of the wave.

• Phone / tablet: tap anywhere on the game to jump. Hold your finger down a little longer for a higher jump. Swipe down, or hold the SLIDE button, to slide under things.
• Computer: press Space, ↑ or W (or click) to jump, and hold it for a higher jump. Hold ↓ or S to slide. Press P or Esc to pause.
• DASH: press X or Shift (or double-tap the screen, or tap the DASH button) for a short burst of speed. The meter under the seeds shows when it is ready again.
• GROUND POUND: press SLIDE (or ↓) while you are in the air to drop like a rock. Whatever is under you gets smashed: desks, crates and boulders. If you slid into the jump, let go of slide and press it again.
• COMBO: grab seeds quickly in a row to build a streak. Every 5 seeds in a row adds bonus seeds, paid out when you reach a snack box. Let the streak lapse and it resets.
• CLOSE CALL: let the wave get right on your tail and you still get away with bonus seeds. Risky!
• Each level has its own music. Tap 🎵 to turn the music on or off, and 🔊 to turn all sound on or off.
• The meter at the top shows how far behind you the wave is. Green is safe, red means run!
• Bumping into desks, chairs or backpacks slows Hamzy down and knocks a few seeds out of his cheeks.
• In the school hallway, jump over wet floor puddles. If Hamzy runs into one he slips into a belly-slide and can't jump until he gets his grip back. Slide under lunch tables or hop on top of them.
• From the schoolyard on, Hamzy can double jump: jump again while he's in the air.
• Bounce off trampolines, shop awnings and big mushrooms to reach high paths full of seeds. Ride the playground slide to the yellow speed strip for a burst of speed. Mud and ice are slippery too.
• Near the end of every level the MEGA WAVE rises up and throws junk ahead of Hamzy. Watch for the red shadows that show where it will land, and escape through the green EXIT for 25 bonus seeds.

Seeds, cheeks and snack boxes

Hamzy stuffs every sunflower seed he finds into his cheeks. The fuller his cheeks, the rounder and slower he gets, and they can only hold 50 seeds. Run past a red Snack Box to bank your seeds safely and make him fast again. Seeds still in his cheeks are lost if the wave catches him. A snack box shows up every 50 seeds, so there is always one close by.

Tips

• Hamzy is lazy. If you don't touch anything for a few seconds he dozes off and slows down. Tap to wake him up.
• Grab the hamster wheel to roll at top speed and smash straight through obstacles.
• The duck floatie saves Hamzy once if the wave catches him.
• The skateboard in town makes Hamzy faster for a while and rolls right over puddles.
• You can land on top of desks and run across them. It's often the safest path.
• Each level gives up to three stars: one for escaping, one for banking 70% of the seeds, and one for bumping into things no more than once.
